Abstract

The rhyming network of 133 prose and 201 poems published from 1523 to 1700 were constructed. Motifs in the form of N-sized connected components present were determined along with their corresponding frequencies using Gephi. The structural difference between poetry and prose was observed from both graphical and numerical data. The results were compared with motifs of random text networks.
