Abstract

We demonstrate 1 dimensional terahertz imaging and time domain spectroscopy (TDS). The spatial distribution of the terahertz field were obtained by stage scanning the sample. Numerical calculations show a theoretical resolution of 240 μm which is lower than the wavelength of the emission field. TDS measurements at pertinent positions in the sample show the effects of diffraction in the observable frequencies of the terahertz emission. This paper shows a proof of concept demonstration of terahertz imaging spectroscopy.
