Time-Integrated optical emission spectroscopy of Y-Ba-Cu-O plasma produced by infrared Nd: YAG pulse laser
Abstract
Optical emission spectroscopy was performed on Y-Ba-Cu-O plasma generated by the fundamental harmonic (λ= 1064 nm) of the Nd: YAG pulse laser. Emission lines corresponding to the target elemental composition namely Y, Ba, Cu, and O were detected. Laser ablation in ambient pressure however, consists primarily of neutral Ba, Cu, O, and N species. The intensity of the emission spectra varies with laser fluence. These results indicate that both laser incident energy fluence and ablation environment during ablation could affect the species observed during infrared pulsed laser ablation.
