Abstract

We revisit Aharonov-Popescu-Rolich-Viadman’s (APRV) negative kinetic energy in the context of joint position and kinetic-energy measurements. We recover APRV’s negative kinetic energy, and find at least two routes to this result. One is by measurement of the position at arbitrarily large distances away from the origin, with no restriction on the precision of position and kinetic energy measurements. The other is by precise measurement of position and imprecise measurement of kinetic energy, without the condition on position measurement of the former.
