High school international physics curricula: Exploring similarities and differences in Physics A-level, AP, and IBDP
Abstract
Physics is a challenging course in high school. There are three foremost curricula globally that are most prevalent in international schools. They are College Board-Physics AP (Advanced Placement), International Baccalaureate Physics DP (Diploma Programme), and Physics A-level courses developed by six examination boards. All advanced high school-level courses aim to provide a comprehensive theoretical and experimental understanding of general physics principles. In this work, I will present and discuss similarities and differences in the philosophical approach, structure, content, assessment, and recognition of these three reputable curricula.
