Abstract

We report the diffraction performance of a bioplastic diffraction grating fabricated from seafood waste as an optical teaching material. The fabricated grating with a groove density of 600 lines/mm produced a diffraction angle that deviates by only 4% from the theoretical value, using a 514.5 nm diode laser source. Our results promote both innovation in physics education and sustainability in optics.
