Abstract

The Philippine Junior Physics Challenge (PJPC), a competition designed for Grade 7 to Grade 10 students with an emerging interest in solving challenging physics problems, was conducted for the first time in January 2024. The PJPC examination was a ninety-minute, 30-item multiple choice exam, involving topics indicated in the PJPC Syllabus. There was a heavy focus on classical mechanics, and an intent to arrange the problems in increasing order of difficulty. This paper presents the results of the PJPC 2024 and analyzes the items given in the competition. Recommendations on the format of future PJPC examinations and awarding scheme are made.
