Abstract

Optogenetics allow for precise and selective manipulation of biological cells for neuroscience and cardiac research. In this talk, I will discuss some of our developed optical systems that permit us to spatially and dynamically control cell activity using light. I will also present a few applications of these systems, particularly, to optically pace cardiac tissues and control macroscopic biological waves.
