Eliminating local phase errors in unordered wave propagation phase retrieval using phase patch method
Abstract
Multiple plane phase retrieval with unordered wave propagations has been shown to accelerate the reconstruction of the object wavefront without introducing additional experimental constraints. However, it may still lead to local phase errors if there is a lack of variation between the intensity images which becomes more pronounced when very few intensities were recorded. Here we introduce a method to eliminate local errors in the reconstruction by adding a phase patch to perturb the stagnation in the iterative reconstruction. Results show that the proposed technique accelerates the removal of the local errors in the reconstruction.
