Phase error due to coating in a graded reflectivity mirror (GRM) for a single-shot configuration which measures the optical analogue of the Thomas Effect in a modified Michelson-Gires-Tournouis interferometer
Abstract
We present two unique contributions in this paper. First, we derive theoretically the analytical expression of the phase error due to the coating for our proposed graded reflectivity mirror (GRM). This is significant since the effect of phase error coating can now be taken into account to assess the realistic performance of our previously introduced modified Gires-Tournois resonator (m-GTR) set-up that aims to mimic analogously the Thomas angle in special relativity. Second, we introduce our initial engineering design of the proposed GRM which relies on periodic high-low indices multilayer configuration. Preliminary results and calculations are provided.
