Abstract

A rotating mirror device is presented as an alternative scanning mechanism for imaging systems. The device is portable and can work in between a wide variety of camera setups and light source or target objects. The device allows simulating the motion of drone or satellite platforms even at early stages of optical payload prototyping, when components are not yet ready to be flown or launched. The design, construction and initial captures of the rotating mirror device is presented.
