Effect of source rate variation on the total information within an Erdos-Renyi random network
Abstract
A random network such as Erdos-Renyi (ER) random network can be used as a simple model for many complex real-world networks. In this work, ER random network with p = 0.1 and n = 100 was constructed. Only one source node and one sink node were chosen randomly in each generated network. With constant sink rate and varying source rates, the average total information within the networks vs κ (ratio between source and sink rates) was plotted for threshold information per node sampled from normal distribution with different standard deviations (from 10 to 30 with intervals of 5) but constant mean of 50. The threshold information per node, unlike κ values, determine the behavior of the average total information within the network.
