Wave reconstruction of objects behind a scattering surface using surface smoothening agents
Abstract
A technique for recovering the original object wavefront obscured by a thin diffuse layer is presented in this paper. Filling-up the indentations on the rough surface with surface smoothening agents could reduce the detrimental effects of scattered light on image quality. Employing digital holography, the amplitude and phase of a test object wave are evaluated and holograms of the obscured object with and without the agent applied are compared. The effectiveness of the technique was demonstrated using diffusers with varying degrees of roughness.
