Abstract

Electrical conductivity of BaFeO3+y bulk samples made from the solid state reaction of BaCO3 and Fe2O3 were studied as a function of the oxygen content. X-ray diffraction measurement shows the samples produced were of the cubic, monoclinic and rhombohedral type BaFeO3+y. Electrical conductivity measurements were done in room temperature with the 4 point probe. It was seen that annealing at higher temperatures under oxygen atmosphere improves the conductivity of the sample.
