Sn-Bi deposition on stainless steel samples as selective coating using the magnetized sheet plasma negative ion source
Abstract
In this study Tin- Bismuth (Sn-Bi) thin films deposited on aluminum samples and were considered as selective coating for solar thermal collectors due to its low reflection and high absorption percentages. A tin sheet and bismuth pellets were subjected to magnetron sputtering and samples were exposed to sputtered ions for deposition. Optical test shows that a blackish coating is visible in the SS samples; XRD results show the presence of Sn-Bi (400) peaks; and reflection results reinforce the fact that Sn-Bi has a lower reflection and higher absorption percentage.
