Associated electroproduction of J/ψ meson and Z boson at DESY THERA
Abstract
We study the leading order nonrelativistic quantumchromodynamics prediction on observables in the electroproduction of J/ψ meson in association with Z boson in electron-proton deep-inelastic scattering. The observability of the process is studied under the experimental conditions of THERA, which is an ep supercollider that uses the lepton beam from TESLA and the proton beam from HERA, by calculating the scattering cross section distribution in the photon virtuality Q², in the virtual-photon energy fraction z transferred to the J/ψ meson, in the virtual-photonproton center-of-mass energy W² , and in the J/ψ transverse momentum pₜ (pₜ* ) and rapidity y (y*) in the laboratory (virtual-photon-proton center-of-mass) frame.
