Abstract

A tunable fluidic lens of variable radius and focal length based on the design by R. Marks is fabricated and characterized. Using a collimated HeNe beam (λ = 543.5nm), changes in focal lengths are observed and visualized as gradual volumetric increments are introduced into the lens. Furthermore, resulting focal length plots against volume changes are compared against theoretical values while surface plots of beam profile are obtained.
