Abstract

Porous titanium dioxide nanostructures were fabricated using anodic oxidation of sputtered titanium thin film in hydrofluoric acid electrolyte with different bath temperatures in order to determine the effects of the electrolyte temperature on the morphology of the fabricated nanostructures. Differences in the structure, in terms of the overall surface appearance and oxide layer thickness of the as-grown titanium nanostructures were observed. It was observed that the thickness of the oxide layer increases with decreasing electrolyte bath temperature. Furthermore, Raman peaks attributed to anatase TiO₂ were predominantly observed in the as-grown samples.
