Influence of annealing and repeated sintering on themorphology of (Bi, Pb)-2223 thin films fabricated by infrared 1064 nm Nd: YAG pulsed laser deposition
Abstract
This work investigated the effect of successive heat treatments on (Bi,Pb)2Sr2Ca2Cu3Oy thin films. The Pb-doped Bi-2223 thin films were fabricated by pulsed laser deposition with post heat treatment in ambient air The heat treatment factors include sintering temperature, repetition of post-annealing treatments and profile variations. It is found that repeated post-annealing at longer sintering time results into more planar and highly oriented grains. An increase in laser fluence allows better nucleation and fusing of grains. Chemical composition ratios are reduced with increasing number of heat treatment repetitions, though Pb and Ca are easily depleted at higher temperatures.
