Zinc oxide microstructures synthesis by direct-current resistive heating of zinc metal
Abstract
ZnO microstructures were produced by oxidizing zinc metal through direct-current resistive heating. The metal is heated by applying a current through the metal. The effect of the growth duration and applied current on the morphology and crystallinity of the structures are investigated. It was observed that as the applied current increases, the size of the structure decreases. The produced nanostructures were characterized using X-Ray Diffraction and Scanning Electron Microscope.
