Fabrication of polycaprolactone nanofibers through electrospinning
Abstract
Polycaprolactone nanofibers with diameters ranging from 200 to 400 nm were successfully fabricated via the electrospinning process. Scanning electron microscope was used to verify the existence of nanofibers. From SEM images the mean diameter of electrospun PCL nanofiber was found to be 366 nm. Uniform nanofibers were also observed from the electrospun PCL. Structural characterization using Fourier Transform infrared spectroscopy was used to determine its chemical structure.
