Abstract

A non-mechanical technique for investigating ferrofluid surface waves is presented. The said approach utilizes a ferrofluid layer driven by a square wave signal. Experimental characterizations as a function of parameters such as the driving signal frequency, voltage amplitude and coil turns are presented as well as numerical simulations based on the normal vibrational modes of a circular membrane.
