Abstract

A numerical study on the sampling of a volume speckle field that is facilitated with a beam splitter (BS) cascade is presented. The cascade directs the speckles onto axiallydisplaced planes, making the simultaneous capture of intensity images possible. The effective signal of the source is however compromised. Special transmission/reflection (T/R) ratios are required of the BS to deliver optimum amount of light to the detectors. Simulations show a set of BS combination that delivers the same beam intensity of at least 6% using images from 16 planes still results in successful phase retrieval.
