Texture signatures of various native weaves
Abstract
Texture signatures of woven materials from Bukidnon, Benguet and Ilocos were obtained from the photometric stereo image reconstruction of the weave samples, convolved with a set of Gabor filters. The "energy" of a texture image due to a filter is computed from the sum of intensities in the convolution image for that filter. A Gabor energy profile is formed by combining energies from different filters into a feature vector. Combinations of Gabor filters which give a feature vector the largest ratio of between-sample separation with within-sample variation is used for representing the texture signature of the weaves. The texture signature gives a unique, quantitative representation of the texture present in each weave sample.
