Abstract

Combined method of powder deposition and liquid phase sintering technique was used to grow YBa2Cu3O7−δ (Y-123) films on LaAlO3 substrates. The morphology and film orientation were investigated at the partial melting temperatures between 970°C to 1000°C. From 970°C to 990°C, highly c-axis oriented films were produced and the surface morphology of the films was characterized by island growth mode. Furthermore, the films approximate well 1-2-3 composition. However, the film grown at 1000°C shows excess yttrium and copper content and has low degree of crystallinity.
