Modified filter design to optimize the synthetic reference wave in the generalized phase contrast method
Abstract
We describe a modified design of the filter for the generalized phase contrast (GPC) method. The modified filter, consisting of a circular region surrounded by an annulus, suggests a flatter response of the intensity distribution at the output. The intensity distribution at the output is governed by the synthetic reference wave, which is normally associated with the filter parameters. We measure the quality of the light distribution of the projected intensity images by calculating the normalized error and show the performance of the GPC method with a modified filter.
