Abstract

The students' conception of forces and work was analyzed. Students have problems in analyzing the concept of net force acting on different bodies. They can easily remember the law of action and interaction but they tend to ignore the fact that pair of forces act on different bodies. On work, students simply extract features from the variables given. When they are required to determine which one applies larger force they single out the case in which the values are larger.
