Abstract

We present the transmission spectra of microstructured poly(methylmetacrylate) (PMMA) polymer fiber by using terahertz-time domain spectroscopy (THz-TDS). The spectra showed two pulses; the first, having almost the same feature as the reference pulse, is attributed to the THz wave that propagated through the hollow core while the second pulse is the THz wave that propagated in the microstructured cladding. We also present the shift of the transmittance peak between the fibers having a microstructured cladding diameter of 75 µm and 65 µm; showing their frequency selective properties.
