Abstract
Sounds are too abstract for students unless they can appreciate it. One way of stimulating student to learn about sound waves is by allowing them to explore this phenomenon, through playing musical instrument, however only few know how to play at least one instrument. However with MIDI they can be a composer, play a band or an orchestra and be a sound engineer at the same time. Surprisingly with a zero price tag, it is outstanding tool with regards to sound manipulation. This paper suggested how MIDI can be a helpful tool in motivating students to venture to the physics behind the music from the affective before the concepts and mathematics.
