Abstract

Fresnel and convolution methods of hologram reconstruction are reviewed and the principles of holographic multi-channel correlation are presented. Reconstructions of reference and target objects are correlated to recognize and localize similar objects in 3D space. Color object recognition is demonstrated by recording and reconstructing primary color holograms using H2 Raman shifter as light source and subsequent multi-channel correlations. Recognition capability is improved with the addition of color information.
