Investigation on the impetus-like concepts of students regarding forces

Abstract

A questionnaire about forces and motion was designed. It was given to 101 students enrolled in Physics courses; Physics 3, Physics 71, and Physics 81. It was found that some of the students had the idea of 1) force causes motion; and 2) force is needed to keep things moving.
