Micromorphology and molecular structure of layered polyaniline on glass substrate
Abstract
Polyaniline Emeraldine Salt (PAni-ES) was prepared using the standard method of oxidative polymerization. The PAni-ES was undoped to yield PAni-EB using Ammonium Hydroxide (NH4OH). PAni-EB was diluted using N-methylpyrrolidinone (NMP) and was layered to a film. It was doped by Sulfuric Acid (H2SO4) after air-drying. Results of Fourier Transfrom Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR) for the samples showed the bonds and resonance structures of PAni both for undoped and doped films. Interconnections and overlapping of globular structures were seen in the Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM) images. The doped film showed an ohmic behavior when it was electrically characterized which proves the conducting properties of film.
