Abstract

A sample of waste cullet in the local white clay was prepared. Formulations of clay with glass contents were made. This was studied under the SEM at different magnifications to qualify the porosity in which at higher glass content vitrification is observed. The fractal dimension of the sample decreases as the glass content gets higher. Also, fractal dimension and % average porosity showed a directly proportional relationship. The study can be extended to measuring fractal dimensions of different porosities and eventually measuring porosity in terms of fractal dimension.
