Abstract

The equilibrium statistical mechanics of a system of coaxial charged dielectric disks in a box of finite length subject to a uniform external field is investigated in the canonical ensemble. From the canonical partition function closed expressions for the specific heat and the pressure at the top and bottom walls are obtained.
