Surface morphology of polyaniline films
Abstract
The morphology of films cast from a solution of emeraldine base polyaniline in 1-methyl-2-pyrrolidinone was examined under a scanning electron microscope. The surfaces examined were generally smooth except for several isolated areas. The films also exhibited a sheetlike structure. Doping by acid seemed to induce some change in the morphology of the film, judging from micrographs of the boundaries between doped and non-doped areas of the films. The morphology did not seem to depend on the nature of the dopant acid used.
