Measurement of students' attitudes towards physics
Abstract
A study that measures the dimensions of attitudes of introductory Physics students of UPLB was conducted during the 1st Semester of Academic Year 2005−2006. Using a prepared questionnaire, the dimensions measured were students' attitudes towards Physics as a process, as an academic subject, and as a value to society. To characterize the dimensions of attitude of students in Physics, means and standard deviations were computed per course and the frequency distributions were fitted to gaussian and normal curves. No significant differences with the degree of attitude were found out in the comparisons among dimensions, genders, and classes.
