Abstract

Experiments in physics are important component to understand and appreciate concepts in physics They are efficient way for explaining concepts since they provide hands-on experience on the phenomena. But an obstacle in performing experiments in most schools is the lack and/or inadequacy of equipment and apparatuses. Thus, it is important to develop an improvised teaching and learning kit that can be used for experiments.
This workshop intends to illustrate how to design and construct teaching and learning kit that can be used in experiments in electricity and electronics such as

  • Verification of Ohm's laws,
  • Determination of properties of resistors in series and parallel,
  • Comparison of the expected and measured values of current in the network,
  • Determination of impedance and capacitance of a resistor-capacitor circuit, and
  • Demonstration of logic gates operation
