Abstract

Teaching mechanical energy and energy transformation to various forms have always been a difficult task for teachers. The concepts are abstract and has different definitions from everyday language. These made teachers have a hard time explaining them and the students experience difficulty in grasping these concepts. The workshop aims to help students understand mechanical energy better by investigating how hydroelectric power is produced. Hydroelectric power is one of the sources of renewal energy. It is important to look into other sources of energy to meet the demands of our electric power consumption since the cost of petroleum is quite high nowadays.
