Cellular automata model of n-slit light diffraction
Abstract
Because of the difficulty of finding analytical solutions to problems of light propagation, a cellular automaton approach is used, applied in particular to the single-slit light diffraction. Solutions provided by the model for the single slit differ by 1.8% as compared to the analytical ones. The effect of the cell dimensions on the results of the model are also investigated, showing that smaller bin sizes lead to faster convergence and robustness.
