Abstract

YBCO film was fabricated on Molybdenum substrate using electrophoretic deposition technique (EPD). Photomicrographs taken using Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM) showed formation of clusters of random microstructures surrounded by hexagonal microstructures for films grown near the peritectic temperature of YBCO. X-Ray Diffraction (XRD) patterns showed distinct YBCO peaks, however some unidentified peaks are present. Energy Dispersive Spectrometer (EDS) results confirmed the presence of considerable trace of Ni, a contaminant from the Mo substrate, aside from the components of YBCO.
