Abstract

The response of blue light-emitting diodes under optical beam excitations as a function of the device's position was presented. The Optical Beam-Induced Current (OBIC) was demonstrated using UV from a Mercury lamp for the one-photon OBIC, and green (503 nm) and red (636 nm) Stokes lines from a hydrogen Raman shifter pumped at 355 nm for the multiphoton OBIC. Greater localization of OBIC response was observed for the multiphoton processes. Poor beam quality, however, was observed due to the gaseous Raman medium used.
