Abstract

MgB2 thin film was prepared at different deposition temperatures (700°C, 800°C, and 900°C). SEM micrographs of MgB2 thin film revealed that as the temperature of the deposition increases, the hexagonal crystals are formed, while the vacuum pressure and deposition time are held constant. The presence of the MgO phase diminishes as the MgB2 phase becames prominent. As a consequence of an increase in the deposition temperature, the thin film became less porous, the thickness of the film decreased, the x-ray spectra of MgB2 and MgO also decreased.
