MX' distribution of J/ψ inclusive production in ep deep-inelastic scattering at DESY HERA

Abstract

The MX' cross section distribution of J/ψ plus jet associated production in electron-proton deep-inelastic scattering at DESY HERA, where MX' denotes the invariant mass of the jet and proton debris, is predicted to lowest order within the factorization formalism of nonrelativistic quantum chromodynamics. Contribution to the cross section distribution originating from color-octet processes dominate the color-singlet one throughout the entire range of the distribution. This study will help in contributing to efforts in determining whether or not color-octet processes exist in nature.
