Abstract

The fractal dimension of Laguna De Bay was determined using Richardson's Plot and Box-Counting Method. The total length of the boundary was obtained given the scale and the corresponding number of length after computing for the fractal dimension of the lake boundary. The fractal dimensions obtained using both the methods were close to each other. But the box counting method showed a larger estimate of the fractal dimension that is expected. The obtained fractal dimension is 1.1286. The dimension of the lake is closer to 1, this means that the shoreline is somewhat smooth. The value of M is invariant for any scale used. The value of Hausdorf measure was computed numerically using the data obtained from Richardson plot yielding a value of 1320.7 km.
