Time evolution of the fourth-wave in degenerate four-wave mixing (DFWM) in methyl red doped nematic liquid crystals (MRNLC)
Abstract
The time evolution of the fourth wave in degenerate four-wave mixing in a Methyl Red Doped Nematic Liquid Crystal was investigated. It was observed that the rise of the fourth beam is faster at equal intensity of the pump and signal beam. Furthermore, the dependence of the decay of the fourth beam on the intensity of the pump beam is shown. Lowering the pump intensity at readout prolonged the decay of the grating.
