Abstract

We propose a simple agent-based model for the formation of raindrops. We show that the drop size distribution obtained from simulation follows a truncated power law. This result agrees with the gamma distribution widely accepted as a description for observed drop sizes, showing that the model employed is sufficient to describe the mechanism involved in raindrop formation.
