Abstract

Magnetoresistance obtained from resistance measurements in the presence of magnetic field applied along the c-axis, are performed on a Y-123 thin film having a critical temperature of 70K. The broadening of the transition region, the increasing magnetoresistance peak height increase and its shifting towards lower temperatures are observed with increasing applied magnetic field. This behavior is resultant of the joint pinning and thermal activation of vortex motion and is already observed in the Bi-2212 thin film results.
