Abstract

The effect of yttrium doping in the in-phase and outof-phase susceptibility behavior and microstructure of Bi-2212 was investigated through magnetic susceptibility measurement and SEM. Yttrium concentration within the optimum amount were used. It was shown that Tc increased with increasing dopant concentration which was attributed to a decrease in the hole concentration of the system. The out-of-phase data also showed a corresponding decrease in the intergranular loss peak which was accounted to changes in the microstructure of the samples.
