Abstract

Hall measurements were done on a Bi2Sr2CaCu2O8+δ liquid phase epitaxy-grown LPE thin film. Using the method of magnetic field direction reversal, the Hall voltage, VH, is obtained. Below the critical temperature, it is found that VH changes sign from positive to negative until it reaches a negative dip after which it increases again to become zero and undergoes a second sign change. With decreasing applied magnetic field, this dip was observed to become more prominent and greater in magnitude. The position of the dip was also observed to shift to lower temperatures as the magnetic field is decreased.
