Abstract

Perimeter outlines of subjects walking towards a camera were extracted from video footages. Tracking of the subject in video was achieved through edge detection, thresholding and morphological operations performed per frame of the movie clip. Despite the inherent size variation of the subject due to perspective projection, the extracted outline was successfully made scale invariant by determining an intrinsic variable scaling factor through ratio and proportion. Compression of outline information was accomplished using Freeman vectors.
